Hi, I'm Jenny, I'm 10 years old and I wet the bed. I say it jokingly but it makes me sad. But I'll come back to this bedwetting story later. What I can tell you about myself is that I am blonde, rather short, and, I'm told, quite perceptive and intelligent.
Socially, I have a hard time, I have to admit. I don't like talking to people I don't know. When someone comes to talk to me, I speak as little as possible, and especially I don't ask any questions. The idea is for the person to find me weird and leave. And it usually works!
I have very few friends, few are those to whom I give my friendship. And when I say friends, it's mostly girls. Again, I can count them on one hand.
At school, I'm terribly bored. The days are long, very long. I really feel like I'm not learning anything. And yet, I haven't skipped a grade, but two. As for my classmates, it's not pretty what I'm going to say, but I'll say it anyway, they are stupid and childish, especially the boys.
Mom, luckily she's there. She understands me, takes care of me when I'm not well, protects me when needed. We can talk for hours, go shopping, watch silly things on TV. She's my best friend actually.
I live with mom and my little brother Noa who is 9 years old. I never knew my father, or at least, I don't remember him. Mom explained to me that he left with another woman when Noa was born.
Noa, he's the opposite of me. He has lots of friends and has no problem talking to people, even strangers! He's a year younger than me but the same height. It happens that the people we meet think we're the same age, but no, I'm his big sister!
The three of us live in a small apartment with only two bedrooms. Mom has her own and I share the second one with Noa. It's not always easy, believe me! I would like to move but mom doesn't earn enough money for us to have a bigger apartment. She works in a bank, she could steal money from clients' accounts. Money, it's also one of our conversation topics: what would we do if we won the lottery?
Back to this bedwetting story, I've always wet my bed! Since I was born, there haven't been many dry nights, at most 5 I think. Noa, on the other hand, hasn't wet the bed for many years now and that's hard to accept. The natural order of things would have been for me to stop having accidents before him.
I talk about bedwetting accidents but it's not really the case because, after a long period where mom didn't make me wear diapers, I've been wearing them again for a few months. She was tired of taking care of me at night when my bed was wet, and also of having to wash the sheets and blanket every day. I understand, of course, but putting on diapers when you're 10, I guarantee you it takes a toll on your morale!
With this bedwetting, it's safe to say that inviting a friend to sleep over, or going to sleep at someone else's place, is out of the question. Already I don't have many friends, if it's to have even fewer... and imagine the shame of waking up with wet pajamas and a wet bed... Mom tried to reassure me but I never accepted it!
One time with mom, we had fun counting how many diapers I had worn since I was born, and the number was staggering. As for the diaper models, I've tried them all, in all sizes, in all brands. For a long time, at least when I was little, it was mom who put on the diaper before going to bed, but now, I put it on by myself. It's very easy actually since it's a pull-up diaper.
In the morning when the diaper is wet, every morning in fact, I go to the kitchen and have breakfast. I only take off my diaper later. But I'll tell you why another time. It's the same ritual I've been doing since I started wearing diapers again.
It's clearly shameful what I'm doing but I have to admit that waking up in a cold bed in the middle of the night was much worse. I would wake up mom, she would help me change and remake the bed before I went back to sleep. I even woke up in the morning with a wet bed a second time. Seeing mom's face, I could tell she was really not happy, even if she said nothing.
Noa, my brother, is obviously aware but he's not mocking, thank goodness. Occasionally, he makes a little remark about the fact that he could have "advantages" because he's "older" but never in front of anyone other than mom and me.
Sometimes, when Noa misbehaves and mom scolds him, she threatens to make him wear a diaper and that calms me down pretty quickly. Even though I love my brother very much, there's a part of me that would like mom to follow through on her threats.
I've seen several doctors and had many examinations to see if there was something wrong physiologically. But no, everything is fine with me, if you can say that. They all say "it will stop as you grow up, you have to be patient."
When mom put me back in diapers a few months ago, I was angry, and I took it off once alone in my bed. Obviously the bed and my pajamas were wet in the morning. Mom scolded me but it didn't go far. One evening, she put on me a new pajama she had bought, a onesie actually, with a closure system in the back. "With this, you won't be able to take off your diaper during the night," she said. But she didn't count on the fact that I was better than the famous Houdini, I had managed, through the fabric of the onesie, to tear the sides of the diaper and remove it completely. The next morning, mom was furious, I think it was the first time I saw her so angry. That evening, mom put on me, over my diaper, a plastic panty she bought from a specialized store, before putting on me once again my onesie. And this time, it was impossible to perform this trick. I eventually got used to wearing a diaper, even though I hate it, and mom stopped making me wear that plastic panty and onesie.
Holidays have always been a source of stress, especially for mom. Between the car ride where I sometimes fell asleep and the beds of the places we stayed, mom's fear was that I would damage and dirty the places where I peed while sleeping. For the car, mom never let me sleep for more than 10 minutes and we took bathroom breaks every hour. As for the beds, mom only chose vacation rentals with a washing machine. She protected the mattress with a plastic cover and washed the sheets every morning. Since I wear diapers, it simplifies things. We went to grandma's for Christmas and I wore a diaper for the car rides and also at night. Mom was much more relaxed.
When mom told me she wanted me to wear diapers at night, she bought Drynites for girls at the supermarket. These diapers were very "childish" even "babyish". I talked to her about it and she went to buy other ones, which were more medical-looking. They are a little bigger, but it doesn't matter to me, I prefer these and so does mom because they cost less.
There, you know a little more about me, about my life. Basically, to summarize, a 10-year-old girl, who wore diapers from birth to 7 years, then from 10 years to now, and who hates them even though she realizes that it's still better than waking up in a wet bed.
